Charm and nostalgia enchant every moment

Cresta Palace is in a magnificent location in the charming village of Celerina. Here, our regular guests of many years enjoy the tranquillity and at the same time the close proximity to St. Moritz – one of the most dazzling winter resorts. In the middle of the Engadin; that inspires with its mountains and archaic glaciers. Here you can expect all the amenities of a luxury 4 Star hotel. Our house was opened in 1906. The modern comforts and ambiance of traditional Art Deco gives our house a very personal touch. The nostalgic lobby, the bright winter garden, the comfortable reading room, the sunny panoramic terraces and picturesque hotel gardens testify to a place, that meets the highest of demands.

Meetings & Incentives

In Cresta Palace, work can easily be combined with pleasure. A professional team can plan your meetings, incentives, seminars or conferences. After work, there are many interesting social programmes available for you. Highest quality meetings guarantee success for your corporate event.

Since 1820, even in Graubünden “modern” roads were being built. In 1882 the Gotthard-rail began to take significant traffic over the mountain and away from our canton. This made them turn more and more to tourism, which began to increase after the German-French war.

In the year 1903 the Albula-rail to Celerina opened. It brought to the Engadin the awaited upswing of visitors, especially in winter. The gentlemen Meng, Piderman, and Gyr formed an Initiative committee with the aim, to build also in Celerina a large hotel. In February 1905, the proposal for the Limited Company to be formed and the project were presented and on 15 April 1905 the founding of the company occurred. Fourteen months later the Cresta Palace Hotel could already be opened.

Both World Wars almost drove the company into bankruptcy.  It was only in the fifties, things began to go uphill again for the hotel. Thanks to constant renovations and the expansion of services, the Cresta Palace Hotel was adapted to the high expectations of its international clientele. What it has to offer makes it one of the most attractive among the four-star houses in the Engadin today.
